Bay made all A's and one B on her first 9 weeks! So far she says she is enjoying 5th grade. She has a field trip to the Capital Building this Friday.

Halloween

Bay and Alyssa went Trick or Treating in the neighborhood. They waited until it got dark and rode with some friends in a trailer filled with hay. It was freezing but the kids kept saying they were hot from running around :)

Bay's 11th Birthday Party

Today I did my schedule. First go Study Hall. Then Homeroom and WCOE Morning News Show. Then Special Area. My first block is with Mr. Zinker in math. Block 2 is Mr. Barfield in science. Next is lunch. Block 3 is Mrs. McLeod with reading. Then play for a little while then we get to go HOME!!!

MY First Day of School

I had a great first day! Fifth grade is very different from 4th grade. I got to sit anywhere I wanted so I sat by my friends Avery, Samantha, Paige, and Isabel. I don't like that Nicolas is in my class again this year but other than that I like everything else.

After school my mom picked me up and took me to get ice cream. I got chocolate chip cookie dough. It was very good.

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT WENDY!!! Did you get to have some cake? I hope you had a great day!!

I went to church today at First Baptist Church of Tallahassee. http://www.fbctlh.org/
I liked it a lot. I want to go again next week.

On our way home from church, my mom and I stopped by Publix. When we were walking back to the car, we saw a walking stick. My mom picked it up and put it in our car to take it back to our house. We let it go on a tree. But before we let it go my mom took a picture of it. It was so cool!

I'm very excited about school starting tomorrow!! I can't wait!!

Bay had a great time hanging out with Alyssa today. They did their nails and hair, played with their webkinz, and went to see the new Mummy movie. Bay's wearing one of the outfits Abuelita got her :)

Bay is in bed right now but won't go to sleep because she's really into a book. She's reading The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. It sounds kind of like a weird story but she says that it's not scary. She has done a lot of reading this summer. I am very proud of her. I will get her to make a list of the books she has read and post them later.

Bay loves the clothes! Thanks Abuelita! I will get more pictures of her actually wearing them at a later date. She went to sleep over to a friends house last night and we couldn't do our fashion show. But I will get those on here soon.

I went to Wal-mart last night and got the rest of the school supplies Bay needed. I was thinking that Friday night wouldn't be busy but it was packed!

I just remembered something I wanted to share. Bay had asked me along time ago when I thought she was old enough to shave her legs. She brought it up again the other day. I told her maybe I would help her shave them that next evening. Well, she calls me yesterday, "Mom, I shaved my legs!" I was concerned if she cut herself. But she didn't & she did it DRY. She didn't know to use soap or water or shaving cream. I told her she should put some lotion on and she said, "OK!" I could hear the excitement in her voice. I just wish I could have taken pictures :) Alyssa has been shaving her legs for some time now. She said that Alyssa cuts herself shaving but "she pushes too hard." So, she said she barely pressed down. She also said that it "feels weird when my knees touch".
Bay is really growing up. I am excited about this new "tween" stage. This was an amazing beginning to a fun ride ahead :)

Orientation was today. We met all her teachers and saw the classrooms. She has three teachers and a homeroom teacher. She also wanted to say hi to last years teachers and on our way to see one of them she said, "I'm so glad to be back at school." :) I'm so glad that she enjoys it so much. As we were leaving she said, "I really like my school." I think Bay is very fortunate to be going to such a great school. The teachers are great and Bay really enjoys learning.

Jacksonville/St. Augustine

June 7th, we took a trip to the Jacksonville Zoo. It is a lot like Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. We went through the African section first. We had so much fun feeding the giraffes!! The tallest one there is the mom. The dad came over for only a minute. He was 3-4 feet taller than the mom! He was huge!

Then we went the Stingray Bay! Cute name, huh?

Then we went to a kid playing area but Bay said it was just for "little kids" (she's growing up). Oh, and went to the South American section where we saw a Giant Otter swimming around. Bay loves otters now. I got a lot of pictures but I'm sure it would be too much to put in this blog. I'll download them to photobucket some time. We went in a "Lost City" building that had some really neat animals in it. We saw a Caiman Lizard. It is half lizard and half caiman. Here's a video we found on youtube that is really shows how cool they are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS8ymXLA8zQ
They have an Australian section but it didn't have very much.
Then we went to the Native Florida section. Of course they have alligators :)

Then we went to Jacksonville Beach. We LOVE the water!!

Also, Bay scored 5's on her FCAT test. That's what the first place blue ribbon is for. To celebrate, she wanted to go to Red Lobster for dinner. She loves those Cheddar Biscuits :)
